There are lots of different options for nightlife in Sicily. One of the most popular meeting places is the market area, Borgo Vecchio, that lies between Piazza Sturzo and Piazza Ucciardone in Palermo. Other meeting places are Piazza Olivella, characterized by the aroma of kebabs and spices, and the streets that spread out behind the Teatro Massimo. In Palermo itself there are lots of pubs and snack bars such as Fusorario, which is near the Politeama Theater. There are also plenty of clubs to go to on the weekend, like Villa Partanna. Palermo's most popular dance clubs lie in the city's commercial center. The city's main dance club is Candelai, Via Candelai 65 (tel. 091 - 32 71 51), which charges a € 4.50 cover. Mainstream rock blasts throughout the night in this crowded complex of gyrating 20-year-olds. The club is usually open only Friday through Sunday from 8:00PM, with no set closing time.

One of the most popular meeting places in Catania is the Scalinata Alessi, a staircase in the center of the university area of the city, just a short walk from Via Crociferi, where there are lots of clubs. Quattro Venti is Catania's place to be! It's a restaurant that turns into a nightclub around midnight, with a very sophisticated ambience. One of the most famous clubs is Nievski, the first pub that opened up in the city. Now there are about 120 of them and they are always crowded and lively.
