These beaches are located within the Zingaro
Natural Reserve on the northwestern extremity of
the Tyrrhenian coast. Short paths permit to walking towards
the ocean and diving into the uncontaminated waters of one
of the most stunning places of the Mediterranean Sea.

Scopello
(Tp)
Scopello is a small fishing village located
on the northwestern coast of Sicily, between San Vito Lo
Capo and Castellammare del Golfo. Small but rich in tradition,
it has succeeded in maintaining its identity with its
few houses, the baglio (bailey, or courtyard), a
church, the
faraglioni (rock stacks), and the tuna fishery.

Spiaggia
dei Conigli, Lampedusa (Ag)
On the southeast side of Lampedusa, many consider
Spiaggia dei Conigli (Rabbits Beach) one
of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The bay has greenish-blue
transparent waters and white small grains of sand.

How to get there
- The island of Linosa is connected to Sicily by a
ferry service with the seaport of Porto Empedocle,
near Agrigento.
Lampedusa, the bigger island of the Pelagie
Islands, also has a small national airport which
carries out service mainly during the summer period.

Vendicari,
Pachino (Sr)
Since 1984, Vendicari marshlands have become
part of the Natural Reserve named "Oasis
and Fauna of Vendicari" and are protected
by the State Forest administration of the Sicilian Region.
Wide and immaculate beaches make this area one of the most
beautiful in Sicily.

Scala
dei Turchi, Agrigento
Beautiful rock formation made of gypsum and lime stone, La
Scala dei Turchi, which means "The Turkish stairway",
is located on the southern coast of Sicily between Trapani
and Agrigento. The name of this place refers to a legend which
tells about the story of the Turkish invasion of Sicily. The
stairway supposedly was built by the invaders to occupy the
island.

it used to be a dock for the Saracen pirates.

The cove at Pollara is a dramatic beach
with a vast blank wall of pallid orange rock, known to cinephiles

How to get there

The are frequent car ferries and much quicker hydrofoils
from Milazzo on Sicily to and between the Aeolian
Islands (most go to Lipari) - many during the
summer, with fewer in the spring, fall, winter and

and during the summer hydrofoils run to and from

The coast of the Aegadian
Islands, Levanzo, is characterized
by a myriad of gulfs and little beaches. Cala Minnola
is unique for the color of its rocks and the transparence
of the sea.

beach that smoothly descends downhill towards into the sea.
